Dear Friends,

Happy Feast Day, Holy Family

On this Sunday after Christmas, the Church celebrates the Feast of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph. As we celebrate our parish feast day this weekend, this gives me an opportunity to acknowledge the Feast that Holy Family is a great parish. How do I love you? Let me count the ways, wrote Elizabeth Barrett Browning in her Sonnet #43. In this beautiful Christmastide, let me count a few ways:

1. Your concern for the needy and less fortunate without a hard sellfrom me. Parishioners went all out for our three special appeals this holiday season: Deacon Rays Annual TurkeyDrive, The Knights of Columbus Council #15573 Blanket Drive (230 blankets were donatedby you) and distributed by the Knights to the St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen downtown,Our Community Kitchen on the West Side, Dorothy Day House on Belmont Ave., and the Rescue Mission. The Giving Tree -at least 400 gifts -were proudly displayed last Sunday around our Giving Tree in the Gathering Area. These wrapped gifts go to St. Vincent de Paul, Beatitude House, and Sister Jeromes Poor and dining hall.

2. Your generosity in your financial support of Holy Family Parish which enables us to continue ourMission and Ministry here.

3. Your joy and enthusiasm at our Advent and Christmas Masses in prayer and in song.

4. Your personal concern and support of Msgr. Rhodes and me.

5. Your participation for so many liturgical ministries: Choirs, musical cantors, altar servers, ushers and greeters, lectors and ministers of Holy Communion, decorations and environment enthusiasts.

6. Our three parish Deacons: Ray Hatala, Andy McDonald and Mike Puhalla.

7. Our parish staff which forms our parish leadership team here with a support staff second to none.

8. Your support and involvement in our Holy Family Parish School and Religious Education Program.

9. Your involvement and commitment to many parish ministries here -too many to mention.

10. And finally -for all of you who sit in the pews week in and week out, praying together, singing together and giving thanks to our own loving God from which all blessings flow -

Especially the blessing of you . . . !!!

Happy Feast Day, Holy Family

Happy New Year -2020!
