INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAM

 

 Holy Family's academic program is in line with the directives of the Diocese of Youngstown Courses of Study and the State of Ohio Mandates. Religion classes and experiences are provided at each grade level. Sixth, seventh, and eighth graders who excel in academics with a 3.7 or higher point average for the year are honored at the Principal's Academic Awards Banquet. An all-school assembly at the end of the school year is held to bestow a variety of academic and service awards to students in grades kindergarten through grade eight.

 
Preschool and Kindergarten

 Students receive readiness instruction in reading, science, mathematics, social studies, language arts, health, music, physical education, art and music.
 

Grades 1 through 5

 In addition to the religion instruction these students are enrolled in mathematics, reading, science, language arts, social studies, art, music, physical education and computer instruction. Students in fourth grade receive instruction in Ohio History and musical instruction on recorders. Fifth grade students may participate in beginning band. Academically challenged students receive personalized instruction in their area of need by two degreed teachers.
 

Grades 6 through 8

 These middle school students are involved in departmental classes consisting of religious education, language arts, mathematics (including pre algebra and algebra for qualified students) language arts, literature, science, health, social studies (American history), art, instrumental and vocal music, physical education and computer instruction.
